Effects of Liquid Density on the Gas-Liquid Interaction of the Ionic Liquid Compressor for Hydrogen Storage

As a new and promising compression technology for hydrogen gas, the ionic liquid compressor inherits advantages of hydraulic system. The density is one key parameters influencing fluid flow field, sloshing bulk liquid, movement droplets generated during operation. An appropriate selection important design, which would improve thermodynamic performance compressor. However, varied significantly depending on specific combination cation anions. This paper proposed methodology to select optimal used in storage. gas-liquid interaction chamber analysed through numerical simulations under values. Results found that increase promoted detachment from cylinder cover suction procedure contact when gas compressed procedure. Both droplet size dimension derived vortex decreased increased. lowest mass transfer outlet was obtained at 1150 kg/m3. 1300 1450 kg/m3 suggested compressor, taking into account transient two-phase characteristics, transfer, total turbulent kinetic energy.
